Background
Through television and digital media platforms, our client and its brands connect with kids, youth and adults. They develop original, authentic content for distinct audiences including the Millennial Generation, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, LGBT viewers, the American heartland and more. Across the globe, they reach viewers in more than 160 countries with global and locally produced content. In filmed entertainment, Paramount Pictures has a rich legacy of bringing box office blockbusters and timeless classics to the big screen - befitting of its standing as America’s oldest running movie studio.
The Challenge
For the past 10+ years, our client operated as a decentralized organization allowing its brands and affiliates to manage their technology including web applications, infrastructure, and platforms on an individualistic basis. After the new CEO arrived, they had a vision for many business related changes including a platform consolidation. This initiative would eliminate redundant systems, applications, so that the whole company would be under one unified platform to create consistencies and also eliminate unnecessary operating costs.
One of their major projects associated with the initiative was to move their entire content management platform to Adobe Experience Manager. Their old system was homegrown and ended up creating far too much functionality from what it was originally intended to do. This project would serve as the #1 initiative on CIO’s list of critical projects.
